Watercolor Nail Art

Hello lovely readers! Sorry for the long absence, but I've had several problems that have interfered with blogging. Instead of boring you with details, I'll show you some pretty nails. I saw this pin on Pinterest a while back and knew I had to try to recreate it. Mine isn't as gorgeous as the original, but I still like how they turned out:

I'm going to be honest and say I'm not 100% sure on the polishes I used, but I believe I used the following: I know I started with a coat of Sinful Colors Snow me White. Then I applied dots (as shown on the Pinterest pin) of the following polishes: I Need a Refresh-Mint, On a Trip and Candy-licious. These are all from the wet n wild megalast line. I topped it all off with a coat of Seche Vite. This was a fairly simple and quick mani and I will be trying a neon version soon.

I hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading!

Hey everyone!

First of all I would love to thank Simple Joy Of Polish for having me as a guest blogger. She’s the sweetest! So for today’s blog I put together a nail tutorial featuring one of my favorite hello kitty characters, Pochacco. Let’s get started!

What you will need:
Purple polish
White polish
White thin design polish
Black thin design polish
Dotting tools

Optional for chicky sidekick:

Start of with your favorite base coat  |  paint nails with purple polish (China glaze – Grape Pop)

Optional: I added a second coat of an iridescent shimmery purple (Sinful Colors - Fiji)

Draw the head with white polish (Sinful Colors – Snow Me White)

Outline the head, draw ears, and 3 tiny lines for hair with a black designer polish (CM - Black)

With a dotting took make the eyes & nose

Draw thin white lines in the ears to show the inside of Pochaccos ears (Daisy - White)

Optional: Chickys! – Follow steps as Pochacco
Yellow: China Glaze -  Lemon Fizz
Orange: CM – Orange

WAH-LAH! Here is the finished look!

I hope you guys enjoy this look.

Remember that the list above is just what I used so you can use anything you have on hand, change the background or draw one of Pochaccos other side kicks. Be creative!

Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots: Clearly Spotted

Hi lovely people! I have a special treat coming your way very soon. I don't want to give too much away, but I will give a (not so small) clue: beautysaurusxo. So check out her page and be on the lookout for the special post!

On to today's post. Ever since I saw this post by Nouveau Cheap , I have been dying to get my hands on Chalk Dust, which is black and white glitter in a clear base. I had heard that these polishes were coming out in the US in July, so imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this polish this past weekend in Walmart. What I found odd is that I could find no display and no other polishes in this collection. I just found this polish (which has been renamed Clearly Spotted) in the regular Maybelline display. Anyway, on to the pretty pictures:

Base coat: Seche Clear
Base color: Sinful Colors Grecian Sun (2 coats)
2 coats of Clearly Spotted
Top coat: Seche Vite (1 coat)

Isn't it gorgeous!?! I love it over this shade of blue, but cannot wait to try it over every other color I own! And then for fun, I added a coat of Essie Matte About You:

I cannot wait to get my grubby little hands on the other polishes from this collection!

Thanks for reading :)

Influenster Something Blue VoxBox!!!

My post for today is a bit different. I recently received the Something Blue VoxBox from Influenster. For those of you who have not heard of Influenster, it is an awesome program that sends you complimentary products for testing purposes if you qualify for the VoxBoxes

I was super excited to hear that I qualified for the Something Blue VoxBox and couldn't wait to share what I was sent for review:

Kiss everEZlashes
$4.98 for a duo pack

"Kiss everEZlashes with Kiss Applicator allows for a perfect application every time! Coming in a variety of styles that are perfect for every day wear or formal evening events, they are a must-have." I have honestly never in my life worn fake eye lashes (they scare me a little lol), but these are so cute that I will have to try them out.

Luster NOW! Instant Whitening Toothpaste

"Enjoy instantly whiter teeth with Luster NOW! Instant Whitening Toothpaste. Its propriety Bluverite technology creates the optical effect of instantly whiter teeth, with results that last for hours." I have used this toothpaste a couple of times already, and I have to say that I did notice a small difference in the appearance of my teeth. They look a bit brighter. The box also says that with continued use, the toothpaste could remove surface stains so I'm excited to see if that is true.

Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions

"Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions are engineered to prevent ball of foot pain in any women's shoe, so you don't have to sacrifice fashion for comfort. Their unique gel provides cushioning and absorbs shock, and slim design prevents feet from sliding forward and helps you avoid toe scrunch." These things are seriously awesome! I usually end up taking off my high heels after a couple of hours because I hate when my toes scrunch up; these cushions totally take care of that problem. I highly recommend these!

Q-Tips Precision Tips

"Made with pointed tips at both ends and 100 percent pure cotton, Q-tips Precision Tips cotton swabs are ideal for touching up eye liner, precisely applying concealer and perfecting manicure like a pro." I use these regularly for cleaning up my nail polish, so I was very happy to receive a couple of these.

Urgent Rx Fast Powders

"UrgentRx Fast Powders are credit card-sized packages of fast-acting flavored powder medication. No Water. No Waiting. Just Right-Now Relief." When I was 8, I was diagnosed with migraines as well as daily chronic headaches, and there aren't too many medications that work on my headaches. So I didn't have too much hope for this medication, but it totally eliminated my headache in under 30 minutes! I was very impressed. The flavor is very strong, but not unpleasant. I am definitely going to buy a couple more of these!

So there is everything I received from Influenster. Sorry for the long post, but there were a lot of goodies in that box. If you haven't already, go check out Influenster; it's completely free :)

Until next time lovelies!

Zoya Storm

Hello lovely people! I have another post for you, although it is scheduled so hopefully it works out and actually gets published :)

I received Zoya Storm recently and decided to play with it immediately. It is such a lovely polish, here is how Zoya describes her: "Storm can be best descried as a full coverage, holiday black with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter." However you choose to describe her, she is gorgeous! Here she is:

On my index and ring finger, I started with two coats of Sinful Colors Black on Black. I applied Essie Matte About You on my index finger and left it at that. On my ring finger, I applied to strips of striping tape and added Zoya Storm to the tip and finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

On my middle and pinky finger, I started with two coats of Zoya Storm. I once again applied Essie Matte About You to my pinky and was done with that finger. On my middle finger, I applied the striping tape and added Black on Black to the tip and finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

I love the combination of different textures and finishes. This mani came alive in the sunshine, but I completely forgot to photograph it in the sun (oops!). So instead, I have a couple of pictures taken with flash for you guys:

Isn't Storm amazing! Thanks for reading!

Ladybug Nails

Hello all! It's been forever and a day since my last post. I'm still without internet, but I got myself to a tech center so I could post because I have missed blogging so much :)

Today I have a cute manicure for you guys. I have seen a ton of ladybug nails on Pinterest, so I am unsure of which exact picture was my inspiration (sorry!). I thought these were too cute to pass up doing so here they are:

(natural light)

I started with two coats of Wet n Wild Red a Good Book, which is a perfect red creme. It applied like a dream and was opaque in two coats. I then used striping tape to section off the bottom of my nails and used Sinful Colors Black on Black for the tips. I removed the striping tape immediately. I then used an art brush to paint on the line with Black on Black. The dots were created using dotting tools with Sinful Colors Black on Black and Snow me White. I then topped this all off with one coat of Seche Vite.

These nails were so simple to create and the result is adorable and made me think of lovely spring days in the park every time I looked down at my nails :)

Thanks for reading and I hope to be back soon. Have a lovely weekend all!
