MIA

Hello lovely readers! As you might have noticed (or not lol), I have been blogging a lot less often nowadays. I recently started playing tennis in the evenings for a couple of hours and I am going to start a Zumba class soon. I really want to get down to my goal weight (which is a good 30-40 pounds less than I currently weigh!) so I'm trying to be a lot more active. As you can imagine, this is really cutting into my nail time :(

So I have an old mani for you today:

Base color: Sinful Colors Savage on all fingers except ring finger which is Sinful Colors Nirvana
Top color: SC Nirvana (on most) and SC Savage on ring finger
Top coat: Seche Vite

A couple days later I got bored with it so I added Essie Matte About You.

The application on both of these polishes was excellent and both colors are lovely. Caution though, Savage can really stain your fingernails! So double up on base coat.

So what do you guys think? What are your tips for preventing stains?

As always, I hope you enjoyed it and thanks for reading!

Stripe-y Water Marble

Hello lovely people! I know it's been a while since my last post, but I have not been in a good place emotionally lately so I hadn't taken the time to do my nails (until today). My last post was about two colors that I absolutely adore: Pacific Blue and Coral Reef (both are Sally Hansen Xtreme wear). I loved the combination so much that I knew I had to water marble with them. Here is the result:

(sunlight)
Base coat: Essie Fill the Gap
Base polish: one coat of Coral Reef
Water marble: Coral Reef and Pacific Blue
Top Coat: Seche Vite

I love how this one turned out. I can't get enough of this color combo!

As always, I hope you enjoyed it and thanks for reading!

Sally Hansen Coral Reef and Pacific Blue

Hello lovely people! I hope you had a lovely weekend! Let's jump right into this post, shall we? Every now and then, I come across a color I LOVE so much that I want nothing more than to put it on my nails and then enjoy. I went on a shopping trip yesterday and came across two such colors! They are both from Sally Hansen Xtreme wear: Pacific Blue and Coral Reef.

I loved both of these colors so much, I couldn't decide which to put on my nails first so I used them both lol. Here is the result:

(Sunlight)

Neither one of these pictures is color accurate when it comes to Coral Reef. It is a gorgeous coral tone that is more pink than it appears in the first picture and more orange than it appears in the second lol. I could not get a color accurate pic. But I absolutely ADORE these two colors. Both colors are two coats, using a base coat and top coat. Application was a breeze.

On my right hand, I did the reverse. Used Pacific Blue on all nails except ring finger, on which I used Coral Reef. It's a bit funky and weird (and made my dad laugh and call me crazy lol), but I love them. I smile every time I see my nails. What do you guys think of these colors and the combo?

As always, I hope you enjoyed it and thanks for reading!

Sinful Colors Mint Apple and Nirvana

Hello all! Today I have for you another water marble. I know my last post was also a water marble, but I was so excited about the success of that mani, that I immediately wanted to try again and see if I would be able to succeed once again lol. Here it is:

(sunlight)

(indoors)
Base Coat: Essie Fill the Gap
Water marble: Sinful Colors Mint Apple (an absolutely gorgeous shade) and Nirvana (a deep, chocolate-y brown)
Top Coat: Seche Vite

I know it is far from perfect (again, lol), but I am more than happy with the results. I was much faster than last time and I think the designs are prettier too. What do you guys think? How often do you guys water marble?

As always, I hope you enjoyed it and thanks for reading!

Water Marble

Hello lovely readers. Hope your weekend is going well. As I mentioned in my last post, I recently purchased several China Glaze polishes (for 50 cents each!!!). As I've heard that CG polishes are great for water marbling, I decided to try once again. I've tried several times, and have failed miserably each time lol. I'm glad to report that this time, I was pretty successful. Here it is:

(Left hand; in sunlight)

(Right hand; indoors)

China Glaze: Sangria, St. Martini, and Summer Rain
Top Coat: Seche Vite

It is by no means perfect, but it is my most successful water marble to date and I am very happy with it! I will continue to practice and maybe one day I'll be an expert at water marbling! How do you guys feel about water marbling?

As always, I hope you enjoyed it and thanks for reading!
